Very cool, would like to see if the code could be integrated into Dolphin at some point in time. It's unfortunate that games are all shifting to online required anymore, especially for games like Splatoon and SMM. I just couldn't justify playing either of those titles in an emulator.

Hardly a work of art, but here is a screen recording of NES Remix kind of working :

My computer is over 5 years old, so others may have improved results.

For those interested if their computers are comparable, it probably is.
Windows 10
AMD Phenom II x4 965 black edition (Quad 3.4 gHz)
12 GB DDR3 RAM
NVidia GT 450 (1 gb)

The videocard is a bottleneck for the computer, but at the state of emulation it's probably good enough.
Pretty much any Intel i5 or greater released in the past few years is most likely better as well.

I present to you Cemu. World's first Wii U emulator capable of running and rendering commercial games!

Quick facts:
  • Can run encrypted Wii U images (WUD) and RPX/RPL files
  • Internal resolution is 1920x1080 (if supported by game)
  • For controller input see here.
  • Contains basically no optimizations. Expect slow framerates and long load times.
  • Windows x64 only (other platforms may be supported later)
  • Requires OpenGL 3.3
    • Tested on NVIDIA: Runs fine on most recent driver
    • Tested on Intel: Garbled output but runs if OpenGL version is supported
    • Untested on AMD

Download:

Version 1.0.0 (Win x64)

FAQ:
Can the controller be configured?
Not yet, it's locked to using the GamePad via keyboard. Proper controller support will come in a future release.

Can I run extracted games?
No, when launching a Wii U executable directly (.rpx) no external files are supported. If you want to run a game, it needs to be in raw dump format (WUD or ISO).

Is there supposed to be sound?
No, audio is not yet supported.

What's next?
The current plan is to release new updates at least every two weeks. A more detailed roadmap is in the works.

When do you think a linux version will be released? And where is the source code?

You should put up the code onto github when you feel it should be up there. Many people can help contribute and help iron out bugs. That and git can help with merging old code when needed. Cheers.

Impressive work thus far. I was very intrigued when I heard about this project, but I’m quite disappointed to see that you’ve chosen to dissuade other experienced developers from contributing by keeping it closed source (myself included). I hope you change your mind on this in the future, both for the success of your project and for the advancement of the Wii U reverse engineering & emulation efforts.
