Alright thnx a bunch.I'll try to find someone (fingers crossed) who owns a Wii U around my area.New copies of Mario Kart 8 (PAL) purchased from Smyths website (not in store) have 5.3.2.
Source: I purchased Mario Kart 8 from Smyths.
You would really need someone from Pakistan who has purchased a game from one of your local stores / websites to tell you what version the games come with.
I guess an ELF loader (either USB, SD or both) would be the best thing to find out how high the demand is!If by "safe" you mean ready, it will be when the 5.4.0 exploit is stable and there's a clear need for the community to have the kernel exploit.
Maybe more people would be tempted to jump on board the homebrew scene if it was released? Whenever you decide to release it people will always try to do their own thing with it. It's just one of those things buddy.

Is the ELF format equal across every platform or isn't it? Finding information on a specific file-structure can be pretty hard sometimes! ^^
I personally am interested in experimenting with games' files / code, maybe putting ideas of Mario Maker into NSMBU or making a level converter from SMM -> NSMBU. Most of these things need kernel access if there isn't another way than Cafiine.
A tool someone of your team (/who has kernel access) could maybe work on is a "eshop-Wii-Software -> wbfs converter".
I'd love to play the Metroid Prime Trilogy or Xenoblade Chronicles on Dolphin! [a savegame converter would be nice, too *hint, hint* ]
Wait, is this going to be the whole "I won't give it away because people are going to use it for unethical stuff" thing again? Like USB Loaders and such other stuff? Of course that'll happen but just not releasing it isn't a solution... Oh come on...The homebrew scene can start without a kernel exploit: game modding is the one that really needs it. I have seen some people who are working on game mods and just want to be able to test, and may consider those people, but unless I see a lot of people like that or having more people asking, it won't be released.

That's why I said someone should first develop a solution to either spoof the firmware version so it won't update itself + play online games again or something else. Not sure how that'd work tho, as mentioned earlier I'm not a dev myself ;PI'm not holding it off to stop USB loaders. I'm holding it off because I don't want it to be released, barely used, and then patched.

The long term idea is an emuNAND, which will let you keep a virtual Wii U that can be updated, while keeping the real one offline. This requires an IOSU exploit, which is my current Wii U project.
EDIT: That being said, dantarion and I have been looking into blocking updates and spoofing. Still, I must stress that it will only last as long as the system is on, as it involves running the kernel exploit in the browser to do the blocking.
I respect your decision in holding the release so it won't get patched without a good use.
I believe you'll release it if an update came out and patched it though?
The advantage of releasing it before that is everyone will have it in the latest version. But I think the priority should be making something such as spoofing so we can always remain in the exploitable version and then comfortably focus on the homebrew development.
Yes, just like Matt and I did with the 5.3.2 browser exploit, if it's already patched, we have nothing to lose by releasing it. We're working on both spoofing and emuNAND, so one of those will probably also warrant release, but a patched exploit will definitely lead to release. That being said, I recently finished a second exploit, so a patch won't completely lock us out.
By the way, I did something that caused a weird crash on my gamepad, it went half noisy/greyed almost like what you get in the touch screen when you launch the browser exploit in 3ds.
I am on 5.4.0
The console is unplugged now since I was traveling, but once I set it up I can try it again and see if same thing happens.
I know a crash isn't necessarily an "exploit" but who knows perhaps this is something can end up useful for you guys. It has nothing to do with browser or internet since my Wii U is offline all the time.
So if this is a consistent thing, who should I tell about it ? and through where?
You just need to read through the latest few posts and you'll get the answer!marionumber1,the exploit in 540 will be released in a short or long time ?and when will we can mod game?
