I know it's important. I am not clueless when it comes to homebrew. I simply meant that it is useless to me, and the general public, as nothing special will come directly from userland to be used in userland. No emulators or special HB games.

Actually, emulators could be written in userspace once there's an ELF loader. I accept that there isn't an ELF loader yet, but once there is, it should be perfectly doable.

We have two kernel exploits: a nice, stable one and an annoying buggy one (but slightly better now). We'd probably save the better one for later, and as for the annoying one, I'm waiting for a the game modding and homebrew scenes to grow. For game modding, I have a lot of people already doing it, and I'm a bit wary of giving out the kernel exploit more. Homebrew is something I need to work on to help grow.

I'm always doing modding stuff. I've been with researching and modding smash4 stuff for a while now..since 3ds version. Just been waiting on the kernel sploit to test wiiu files in game. (anything i do to sm4sh will be in this repo)

AFAIK me and Dant are the only ones doing research into the more unexplored files. He's focused more on dumping the data, i've been focusing on making an editor. It's fully functional as far as the ACMD moveset files go, but i'm dabbling a bit into the other files as well (MSCSB, params, etc). Once i've done that, i was thinking about making it function more like a fully fledged IDE.

On wiiubrew it's written that firmware 5.1.2 has no working exploit (userland,kernel,IOSU). Is that true?

If yes then can you guys suggest me a wii u game that would let me update to an exploitable firmware for the future?

Yes, only 4.0.0-5.1.0 and 5.3.2 are supported publicly. You can use Splatoon to update to 5.3.2, provided they haven't pressed new discs with 5.4.0.

Thanks, I've just found the github pages. Can't wait for the kernel exploit to be released so I can make some codes for Wind Waker HD and Hyrule Warriors

New copies of Mario Kart 8 (PAL) purchased from Smyths website (not in store) have 5.3.2.
Source: I purchased Mario Kart 8 from Smyths.

You would really need someone from Pakistan who has purchased a game from one of your local stores / websites to tell you what version the games come with.

It's not just going to come out for reason, there has to be a logical demand for it. If I released the kernel exploit right now, I'd have no idea what people would do with it.

Maybe more people would be tempted to jump on board the homebrew scene if it was released? Whenever you decide to release it people will always try to do their own thing with it. It's just one of those things buddy.

I bet once the 5.4 one is ready we'll already have 5.5/5.4.1 which fixes things again ;P
Also, wasn't that said for the 5.3.2 one too?

One thing is also that the community is clearly waiting for it to be finally released ;P
