im not sure what special thing I did but here goes
pop in cubic ninja
run pasta CFW
run FreemultiPatcher
go to eshop
download ironfall
??????
profit!

So it only runs because you have firmlauch on your pasta. Not straight from vanilla saysnand. Way to troll.

It does not run from 9.0-9.2 without firm launch.

Just for another reference: 9.0 PAL, downloaded on pastacfw with the eshop spoofer. no 1.1 update. Hangs on 3DS boot logo both on regular sysnand and pasta sysnand.

what other way are you gonna get it from the eShop lol
We're talking about turning the system on, and then successfully running Ironfall right afterwards.
That is not possible.

Quick question, one of my 3ds systems only has a 4 gb sd card right now. I downloaded ironfall onto it, but if I ever want to switch to a 32 gb card, will ironfall stay on the system? Or how would I go about doing this?

just transfer what you have on the sd to the other one and it should be fine.

No, it's tied to your SD card so you would have to manually transfer it over.

Could you describe the exact environment and the eshop installation process that you took to get the game booting on your native and unpatched n3ds 9.0 sysNAND? Afaik, everyone else who has tried this is hanging at the 3ds logo.

Same here: Use Cubic Ninja and run pasta cfw (move pasta cfw files to SD card to be launched via the homebrew menu)
After pasta cfw was lunched via Cubic Ninja (homebrew menu) re-launch the homebrew menu under pasta cfw, use the FBI tool under the Home Brew menu to install the FreeMultiPatcher cia file. Exit out of homebrew
You might need to re-access Pasta CFW again (in some cases it kicks you back out) and Launch the FreeMultiPatcher cia file. Click start to activate it (it automatically closes)
Launch Eshop - look for ironfall - download . All Demos/Game Updates downloaded via this method directly from eshop you WILL be able to run via SYSNAND with out needed to access Pasta CFW again.

You WILL need to access pasta CFW to access any other CIA file Installed via the FBI (homebrew channel) as you will receive an error when not under pasta cfw

Question: I have a 9.5 3DS in which I run legit Japanese carts off a QR code reading, that's my only interest in it right now, will this hack allow me to keep running these games or should I not update?

In a nutshell: Is Homebrew Channel able to run Regionthree/Regionfour?

So I guess all this was unnecessary for current 9.2 and below consoles, huh? Too bad. Maybe smea picked it on purpose to only allow updated consoles with a convenient way to launch homebrew channel? I know he is against piracy so I wouldn't put it pass him. But man it would of been great to launch reinand cfw without carrying around cubic ninja.

I believe so yes, either way I assume you are using Cubic Ninja to run Region four, You WILL be able to continue to use Cubic Ninja to run Region Four on 9.9, this (ironfall invasion) will be an addition. Others do correct me if I am wrong.
