Gaming Anyone else excited for Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash?

The only Mario tennis game I played was one for Gameboy Advance (I think) or maybe it was DS. I never played the one for N64 or neither the one for Wii either (because I didn't want to have to use the wiimote). I really enjoyed the one on handheld and was waiting for a console Mario Tennis I could play. Anyone else looking forward to playing this?

I can tell you that I tried this earlier at E3, and honestly, it took a step backwards in the franchise. Especially in the multiplayer aspect, there's no split screen. Using the gamepad is awkward and bulky and it's barely utilized because all of your action takes place on the big screen. The small screen is the exact same thing. Spatial judgment in the game is also an oddity that feels abnormal because you don't have a split screen view. It can get messy sometimes in those chaotic moments when you're trying to figure out what's going on.

The game itself looks really nice, but I wouldn't jump out of my seat for it personally. If you really enjoy the game though and want to try it out, I would highly suggest finding a demo of it somewhere before it releases. Best of luck and let me know if you have questions.

If it plays more like Power Tennis than Tennis Open, sure, I'll give it a try. But a new Strikers game would be better in my opinion.

I can't play anything Mario Sports since the incredible GBC games. They're all a step back.

Nintendo games stupidly are kept high priced for some reason even if they're not that good, so that's why.

I dunno, they seem to finally be (slowly) catching up when it comes to online. First Splatoon which is online-focused (and actually works pretty damn well!) and then the new 3DS Zelda with online coop.
I don't think they've ever released a game with online coop before. Ever.
It seems like they are going to be focusing more on online from now on.

I enjoy the Mario Sports games so I'll probably pick it up eventually. Also god damn, if you don't like the Mario Sports games, piss off. It's also not out yet and was just announced so we have no idea whats going to be new or returning, these games have always had a decent ammount of things to do so I wouldn't be so quick to say its a step down.

Gad damn, people shit all over nintendo's e3, but peel back the cover and yeah they DO have games. So let's just pick apart the EARLY BETA. People are in the mood to shit on Nintendo these days. Probably because Nintendo is cashing in on shitty Amiibos, well boo hoo. At least Nintendo ain't holding back PC game graphics, Sony/MS NEED pc games to be gimped so their "next gen" offerings can seem at parity.

Ninty fans seem bittered and well, in all fairness Sony's E3 was far better in every aspect to that trainwreck of Nintendo.
