Hacking N3DS XL Firmware by version number

Well, went all around town looking for a 9.0 red, found a single 4025 at Best buy. It's 9.0. Will photo later.

That 4014 is really bothering me, maybe the SNs were assigned out of sequence, or factory updating took place only on partial batches.

Vast majority of reds were 4026.

Just got my N3DS (Black) from Gamestop. I can confirm that QW1004 is 9.0U
I looked straight into the bag as soon as I got it and I was happy to see it less than 4000. This thread really helped me buy a N3DS, it's a good thing I changed my mind about getting a red N3DS and got black instead.
Everything on the N3DS seems to be working fine, no malfunctions or anything. The 3D face tracking is finicky, it has a hard time detecting me even in the light. So I hope the 3D is working okay. I'll just assume its working, I don't really use 3D anyways, I love to save battery as much as possible.

My GameStop location did a midnight release, so I had none of this info in these threads to go on. Good thing I picked black . I was floored when I got home and checked the firmware revision.

Ordered a Black one off Amazon that has QW4006 on it. The red one they have in stock has QW4062

Hopefully I won't have any problems, shouldn't by the list so far. Will update with pics & info when I actually receive it.
