Super Mario Bros. film possibly in development

This is going to be an animated movie. CGI, most likely.

If it does happen, we should be due for a 90-minute Super Mario Galaxy cutscene. I am very OK with this.

Some Nintendo history for you, Sony and Nintendo were originally going to release a console together back in the pre-N64/PS1 days. It wasn't until Nintendo decided "nah fuck your ideas Sony" that they split and started the whole "console feud" garbage. So it's not all that far-fetched.

As for the news, meh. It'll just be another shit game movie like all the rest so even if this were true I wouldn't be looking forward to it much.

Well also Phillips screwed the CD SNES add on that Sony was helping with.

A little pre-history to that: Sony made the SPC700 audio chip in the SNES. There's an interesting story behind that, can't remember it at the moment.

Nintendo and Sony working together? Its just plain weird as it kinda makes no sense. Why not use an animation company not affiliated with your competitors like Disney (who did the awesome wreck it Ralph) or DreamWorks?

One thing to remember is the ralph director did once say he'd wanted Mario in the original but couldn't use him due to costs and stated he'd love him in da sequel.

Was not exactly that. Mario was quoted on a pun in the movie (the scene of the party on the building from Ralph's world) and Disney had full liberty to use it in other ways. The only reason they didn't, was cause they didn't want to just use Mario for the sake of it. After the Director presented to Nintendo the scene where Bowser is shown, they even pointed out back that the Director could find a fitting scene like that for Mario. So, Mario didn't appeared just cause the Director hadn't found a proper scene for him ... one that wasn't just a filler (I found it very nice from Disney to think like that about Mario, since he's as known/or more then Mickey).

You mean Mario Sunshine was not a pondering of the nature inconsistent justice in small tropical islands, the concept of community service as a punishment, child raising involving lies, the ability of technology to both and fix environmental damage and highlight the reliance on technology itself.

One thin Ralph did right was using old skool pacman and not the new crappy one.

To be honest, I like both Pac-Mans, it's somewhat similar to Sonic's case redesigns some of them are good (Classic, Modern) while others aren't really all that great (Sonic Boom).
