Homebrew blargSnes -- SNES emulator for the 3DS (WIP)

I'm curious- is it possible for this emu to boot the old 3ds into the same bare-bones menu mode used by Smash Bros to free up more memory? Or does that require a full system restart?

An option for touch screen display would be nice too, so we can avoid the ugly "scanlines" and ghosting on the top screen in 2D mode.

I believe the bare-bones menu is not on the 3DS, but on the Smash card, which the system reboots and loads from that.

If so, that's a shame. Although it may not even be needed, most games already run very well on the unofficial EmuCR version (albiet with some sound crackling).

I'm trying this and I must say. WOW! That works surprisingly well! Sound support is a bit crackling, but it works!
I'm playing smw romhacks with custom music and they run, yay

I know there's no support for the sound version but. Is anyone able to play Killer Instinct with the version that's got sound? It works with the version that doesn't support sound but the one that supports it? Black screen when i load the game.

That's to be expected. The sound version runs in a hardware renderer, which is likely to cause issues.

Wasn't talking to you, no worries, just people saying X game doesn't work with Y build, etc.

Make a folder at root called "snes" and that's where you put games.
