Can't you just use an emulator on the blue card for those games? Except Link Battle I guess, but that one isn't too great anyway.

There are emulators that run on the blue card? And do they run at playable frame rates for these games? I really had no idea that Gateway's blue card ran emulators at all. I mean, it was my understanding that the DSTWO was the only DS-mode flashcart that ran emulators at all.

Of course, just like there are emulators for every other DS flashcart out there. I don't know about LttP but the original NES Zelda most certainly is playable if you use something like NesDS.

I'm an idiot, as I completely forgot that I actually had my Acekard 2i set up to run GB/GBC games so I actually did know about this. So yes, I'm aware of the workarounds. However, why fuck with another card and reinstalling the exploit when I wanna go from DS-mode to 3DS-mode when I can keep the red card in at all times? This was my reasoning for wanting the eShop versions working.

"We're watching you too VENOM. Yes you did foil our plan, the plan to be able release valid eShop ROM images, but now the cat's out of the bag, only Dirty eShop releases can be made now. But speaking of "incompetence" and "self sabotage",we couldn't help but notice your eManuals for BirdMania3D and Liberation Maiden are Stick to card dumping, you obviously don't know what
you're doing with eShop ROMs, as you attempted to patch ours" LOL

once again it was the original release that was modified to make it incompatible....not the other way around, venom half fixed what bbb did, now bbb came out to release the original un-modded file(well its still modded in to .3ds format anyway)

they want the ncch signature checks disabled.....i don't get why them being able to release modified ncch partitions would be "cleaner" surely the game in its original state is better....unless it does get to a point where they have to modify it for the game to work........maybe they want to add bbb-intro's :rofl2:

just to clarify, right now the actual game content is still signed so it has to be an original signed copy of the game content but repackaged into .3ds format, right now only the header signature checks are disabled so you can rip the game from install format and make your own cart layout whilst keeping the actual game a 1:1 copy as the game still needs to have a valid signature....only the layout can be changed.......once the ncch signature checks are disabled it would allow completely unsigned content to be ran....which would actually be good i.e homebrews and stuff.....basically what smealum has on his red nand, except he can probably install cia files too....if unsigned content was allowed i don't think it would be very long before a homebrew .cia installer would be made, combined with no signature checks any game could be converted to eshop format and the flashcards would be no more

In that case I hope Gateway keeps it as clean as possible until it's required to get roms working. I personally don't want ugly 'scene' intros in my games.

It would also have pushed gateway into allowing unsigned code, meaning full home brew compatability. Which means possible free rom loader. So kinda bummed venom "fixed" them.

It really does seem a bit like BBB was after that. Disregarding if the Gateway team would've done it or not, it's a shame VENOM created this mess.

Yeah, Iim sure gateway would've had the foresight to not allow unsigned code.

Lol. Maybe this will be true in a few months or years time. But right now, the clear winner is Gateway. And I'm being as objective as I can and just looking at cold hard facts.

I think this winner of 3ds flashcard in the end of 3ds days are new teams in the 3ds scene like supercard etc. Not gateway or Mt

I think what he's saying is that just because gateway was first doesn't mean they'll always be the best. Just like how r4 was first for the nds and super card is now the best.

tbh there won't be a flashcard battle like nds days, its fairly obvious that eventually there will be a rom loader.......but still gateway innovated the whole thing even if supercard pops up with supercard 3ds......its basically last new card out wins....that's the only reason they won the nds title....its a title nobody is bothered trying to challenge.....and don't shoot me down here but imho it was over engineered
