Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

You can do almost the same with normal Pico, but you you will loose debug led. But not a big issue as long as you solder every point carefully. I even cut/trim it before soldering just after i flashed it.
My setup before wiring/soldering.

what i like about tiny.
no need to cut/trim anymore hehehe

zero need to remove the usb-c port , so we can fit board for lite.
you cant install the metal shield with those usb-c port still attached. lite

Already did it....no luck... bsod

Just get solder Flux and clean all solder point on mainboard with flux and hot solder.. use magnifier/macro camera to confirm it clean, then it should boot normal as long as there are no broken/missing component or reaped trace.

with professional tools.

if you cannot solder properly im afraid
you gonna broke more switch.

im afraid you gonna spend 3 console or 4 console at the end

I have this one and I can tell you that it just does not work with green UV from same brand.
I bought some other transparent UV and it cures in 3-4seconds with same lamp.
I will try some other brand on green stuff in the future and see how it goes.

Same here. Got the same one with the chip a while back. It was to thick, and the achor points were shorter than usual. To many issues. Ended up using an old "corner" model I had as a spare.
Edit: now that you mention it, I guess this (connecting to 2 solder balls) might have been the problem with it all along. There was no chance i could get it to work for more than 2h. Nice catch.

My fault. I misread that 24-25 needed to be bridged for the color code switch. Definitely makes more since to ground one.

Still, I hope someone gets the 2040-Tiny board to work. Seems like a great solution.

It could be a bad installation. And the guy soldered resistors even when this board already has the resistors in the pcb...

One person post a video of an install and it wasn't booting. Not sure if it's working or not, waiting for confirmation. I'd assume it is working or will be soon.
