Aside from (999 spoilers)
Snake's "aparent" death and clovers ending
i didnt think there was that much that was freaky and the story is no way near as good as VLR. VLR isnt the same premise, it has a different story to tell and it tells it well, you sound like you wanted it to be exsactly the same as 999. I get that different people want different things from games but VLR never claims to the "creepy and sadistic" game that 999 was. It is focused on the story and it didnt need any gory or messed up deaths to stay interesting, it has plenty of weird twists that make you question wtf is going on and has a story that is well told from start to finish.

Even if you prefer 999 to VLR tho, they are both great games that everyone should play.

They are fantastic games. I'm just saying, people who are big fans of 999 like me, prefer the anime style characters, and loved how gruesome it was, and were left disappointed by VLR because of lack of gruesome scenes.

I really want to get this game, but the glitch is stopping me from buying it. Is it as good as the previous game?
I got an update for my 3DS download version of VLR, not sure if it fixes the save glitch or not though, since I haven't found any information about what the update does.

I liked the game at least as much as I liked 999!

Though if I were to point out one thing, it is that for the first half of each story path, I feel like there is too much similarity. In fact, a lot of the time you can skip through text because it's the same text even though you're on another path. But once you get past those parts the story usually picks up. I did enjoy getting each ending and finding out more about the story/twists and the characters!

As far as I know. The ? For Kyle is
you the player
Well, that's obvious. The question is whos consiousness is in Kyle's body. If it is you (The player) then who exactly are you? It sort of makes no sense in the perspective. The whole game really, you play the game through Sigma, so at that time, we assume you are Sigma. If you = Sigma, then you cannot be the consiousness in Kyle's body. Why? Because that would assume that Sigma's consiousness is in Kyle's body which when Akane said something like "You need to help Sigma and Phi" proves that can't occur.

Unless, the player is essentially the consiousness inside the Sigma of each time which he is in game and then your consiousness jumps into Kyle's body... (Ofcourse, this contradicts with several facts thorughout the game)

Either way, when you look at it like that, shit gets deep, real deep. It'll become very confusing as time goes on.

Hey guys, I have a theory on who Phi is. Don't read it unless you've beaten the whole game and stuff

I think Phi's birth mother is Akane. She's always had the bracelet thing that references her ability to make jumps, so whoever her parents are, they knew. It would also make sense for Akane to enter her daughter in it because she's srsly messed up and all that. So basically from Phi's birth she was destined to play the Nonary game.

woot! i officially brought this game on 3ds via aksys (and hopefully got the yellow watch, cause they had a promotion)

I know not to save in the PEC room but I don't know what room is that cause I'm avoiding spoilers. Any other suggestions for saving, like I remember someone saying to only save during the novel portion?

Throughout the story you'll spend a lot of time in the Warehouse and the Infirmary. If you feel the need to save, do it in those rooms.

To be absolutely save, don't save in a puzzle/escape room whatsoever. Just save in the novel bits only and you'll be fine.

Have you played the first game yet?

yup. played the first game and got all the endings.

I finally got the game last week (and the watch.) I made the stupid mistake of playing the game before bed while being sick. And being sick for my meant not so pleasant dreams (not nightmares, just dreams about puzzles in the game and being stuck in a room trying to escape.)

My first run, I manage to get the ending where K betrays you, gets 9 points, and leaves the rest there to rot. On my second run, I got Dio's ending.
