Gaming Zelda botw beggining tips?

I can't stress this enough, make use the map markers/stamps!

When I first started I only used the markers to locate towers because I wanted to make all the dark spots of the map visible quickly but then I realized 80 hours in that I should have used stamps instead of trying to remember where certain things are in such a big open world map.

Don't use guides until you have 80+ shrines or 300+ korok seed, because then you just go A to B marks. And take pictures to everyting you see.

follow your heart
get it hearts.....
i'll go kms now

on serious note try stocking up on ancient items, so you can eventually buy the most OP armor in game aka ancient armor

Baddies do not level up over time if you do not kill them, as the other person stated. They level up based on How high your completion % is. Shrines, seeds, the main 4 dungeons, the optional memories and owning the home all go towards the %. The official guide states only the horsemen (forget what they called) level up but this is clearly wrong. I have ran into a silver goblin in an area they used to be blue and red. All non bosses seem to have blue, red, silver and gold variants.

The biggest tip I can give is, always go clear the towers first. It's very useful to have the map of a region you are exploring.

I also keep a fire weapon on me at all times because I can't be bothered hitting a flint to light a camp fire and sit there to pass time.

I have not seen Gold variants of any mobs? I only have about 43% map completion with over 500 seeds left to find, but I have bought all the pictures for the compendium I was missing when trying to track specific things, and no gold variants of any mobs are listed in there. All the silver mobs are though.

if you suck at fighting, sneaking, hunting, i recommend amiibos (retail or custom). Non-Zelda Characters (e.g: Mario, Ryu, Pikachu, etc.) always give you food items but no chest drops.

Really important amiibos is Ganon (Super Smash) for weapons and Rupees, Zelda (Super Smash) gives you mostly Bows, Zelda (BOTW, Wind Waker): Shields, Guardian(BOTW): Guardian weapons tho i prefer getting ancient cores in the beginning and save it for later.

Some exclusive weapons may only drop when you progress at a certain point in the game, just remember to scan before midnight as it is considered another day as soon as the clock hits 12:01AM.

Always save before scanning so you could reset if you want another item and save before engaging those mean looking bosses in the wild. They hit harder than _ _ _ _ _ :P

Best of Luck! :yayswitch:
