So what's everyone's favorite email service? Personally, I use Gmail with Thunderbird on the side.

Although Google makes me feel uneasy with its whole "World Domination" thing going on, I still prefer Gmail for my e-mail service, although I use Hotmail/Live for IM

Hotmail for IM and unimportant stuff (like registering on forums), and Gmail for important stuff (paypal, ordering stuff online, work, etc).

Why is it most people prefer gmail? Whats so special about it?

I understand people flocking to have the e-mail they wanted, which was previously taken up on other e-mail providers. However, I was always weary of a google e-mail account...

I remember 'another.com' where you could make up whatever you wanted

Dod they still exist, or are there other sites like this?
