You seem to be completely ignoring the fact that he's from the U.S. How does not buying the game, contribute to him shooting himself in the foot when NoE doesn't distribute for his region?
Because it doesn't matter. If he wants to play great RPGs on the Wii in English he has no other choice as to support the English release. In this instance the English release happens to be the European one. As easy as that. It's not even complicated or very expensive to import the game from the UK. It's 50USD. You would pay that much for the official American release too.

He shoots himself in the foot, because a) if Xenoblade bombs in Europe, NoE won't be translating Last Story which in turn means that he will not be able to play the game in English no matter what and b) when Reggie said that NoA is looking into the possibility of releasing European titles he didn't say "Buy Final Fantasy 1 on VC and we will release Xenoblade" but what he did say was "We release Xenoblade if it's a success in Europe". Pirating XB instead of supporting what we actually get just causes that things also won't change in the future. E.g. NoA will continue not releasing JRPGs in the US because they don't think that they can be worthwhile.

If you think that you are somehow entitled to pirate the game because NoA isn't releasing it in America, then hey, go for it. But play the Japanese version. Don't take NoE's translation you don't want to support because of a decision made by another company.

nah.. most people are ignorant as how to pirate games, you would be surprised how much of a small margin piracy is.
also on supporting devs, i refuse to pay the cash this will cost to import to the US when NoA could have easily brought Xenoblade over here, had they done that i would have bought this in a heart beat, it's not often a great rpg game like this comes to the wii and comes out of japan, so heck yeah NoA ever decides to bring it our way i'll snatch it up at my local retailer.
not to mention you'd have to hack your system to play it on a ntsc console anyway(big no no if you ask big N's advice) or buy a pal console and a pal supporting tv set(bat shit retarded to have to do this for just 2 or 3 games).
This is, quite honestly, a stupid line of thinking. With not buying Xenoblade you aren't punishing NoA - they don't care and they don't have anything to do with the game anyway. The people you are punishing are Monolith Soft, who spent years developing the game, and NoE, who went out and localized the text and voice heaviest Nintendo game to date. It's an expensive endavour that needs to be supported - especially because of the circumstances. NoE won't do the same thing again if Xenoblade can't recoup the localization costs, which means that you would shoot yourself in your very own foot. And don't make the mistake to think it's "Nintendo". NoA and NoE are two entirely different companies.

Blaming NoA is the laziest excuse for piracy ever.

I can live with people pirating because they are too lazy to spend money, and I can live with people pirating because they want to play a great game early. I can't live with people who make up silly excuses for why they are pirating.

Xenoblade Chronicles distribution in the US depends on the EU version sales.

That has nothing to do with what he was saying. He was suggesting that it would hurt him because it may discourage NoE from adapting games like this in the future. Considering that he doesn't lives in a region outside of there reach, this doesn't make sense.

i don't like that logic if we all import it from Europe then NoA will have no reson to release it here, and after all the back and forth they have been doing with these games in particular i don't trust anything they say.
But if you don't buy it things will never change. It's your only straw of hope. Literally.

The only thing that can convince a company is cold money, quite simple. Pre-ordering a game on Amazon for example doesn't matter -- you aren't paying for it and the company can't know whether or not half of the people aren't going to cancel their order anyway. But if they see that a game can be a financial success, well, then it's another story completely.

To be honest, in the case of Xenoblade it's probably too late. But that doesn't mean that it's too late for Last Story or Pandora's Tower. Or maybe Inazuma Eleven 1/2 at least.

No one thinks that, and i'll play the english version because 1: you don't control me or my actions, and 2: i don't know Japanese.
You really don't seem to get it do you, its not about right or wrong or support or non-support.
what it is about is the fact that i live in America and do NOT have the money to import this game.
if piracy bothers you that much perhaps you shouldn't be on GBATemp.

Okay buddy, you don't like piracy, good for you, no one gives a shit.
your opinion is noted

I pirate because I can, who's gonna stop me?

edit:
same goes for you hanibel

Personally people like you guys are hypocrites...Like you never pirate a single shit online.

I know huh. People register to a website that highly features content that "back-up" friendly, yet wanna act all self-righteous. They should practice what they preach and delete just about every rom and iso file on their computers. As well as every mp3 they have as well. So if you have any pirated media on your computer then you shouldn't be talking, regardless if it's "only a couple" of files.

You as well as this RoMee guy are short-minded idiots, that aren't able to differentiate. There is a huge difference in pirating a crappy mp3 and pirating a rare and good game, that needs to be supported to keep a specific genre alive in the west. According to your short-minded opionions I guess every human being with an internet connection is a dirt pirate, huh?

I don't have a problem with people pirating a game, as I've said. But I do think it's stupid if those people think that they need to make up silly excuses for why they are pirating. If you want to pirate a game at least be honest to yourself.

Except it does. He can play Xenoblade now because it's being released in English. He won't be able to play Last Story in English if it's not being released in English. Quite simple.

this just poped up around google "[WII][PAL]Xenoblade Chronicles.iso" it's a torrent dunno if legit says 6.32GB so it could possibly be it's close to Zero's scrubbed with out update file size.
It's fake too xD... ".iso" files should have full size (4.7 or 8.54)

Could be a trimmed and resigned ISO. Then the 6,32GB sound legit.

You make no sense and your arguments are completely jumbled. It "success" is completely dependent upon European sales, especially considering the fact that your average consumer doesn't import games, and your average consumer would make up that bulk of sells that you say this localization is dependent upon. And since when were sells of a game in Europe imperative to their U.S release? It's usually the other way around. So you're establishing a false pretense/talking out your ass.
