Hacking wtf acekard

the acekard is not cheap at all unless you are a child who can't use their adult toys correctly. i have 4 ak products. i do compatibility testing for emulators. i take the msd in and out of my acekards 10x a day up to 40x a day on a good week of testing. i have not had a problem. the kit constantly comes in and out of my nds. yes the clips aren't the best design and the plastic might feel thin but then again you probably paid 10-12$ for it and not 30$+. as long as you take care to use it as instructed you won't have an issue.

as for the ak2, yes the green pcb had problems. there were a few all related to a design flaw from 1 factory which put out a huge batch of acekards. the 2 was then fixed and given a new sticker (2.1). around the same time a redesigned black pcb ak2.1 came out. this pcb has a different controller chip. the price dropped and the quality of the product went up. ak has just recently released a new case and a blue pcb. i've yet to get information on why they changed.

so if you had an original ak2 use it until it breaks. all acekard products are covered under a 1yr warranty. any real retailer will know this and allow you to exchange.

Stop YELLING kiddo, the AK2 is fine.

Frankly, if you're going to break your AK2 you're going to smash your DS too. It's not that fragile, especially when it's inside a DS.

tl;dr if you manage to break your AK2 in a way that wouldn't break the EDGE it I suggest you play with blocks of iron.

I've purchased a acecard 2 from here :http://www.gizzards.co.uk/catalog/acekard-2-p-70.html yesterday

and after browsing around these forums i've come to realize that there is a 'acekard 2.1' that they released because of 'errors' with the one i bought?.. wtf ?.. I've done alot of researching to buy my cart - had an edge before but gave it to my little sister, I liked the OS of acekard, but now i have a shitty verson of one, great.

what kind of errors are they?.. do the cards just die or what?

The cards get a FAT error.

On a side note, I would buy from DealExtreme if I were you, you can get a replacement acekard no questions asked if you have a 2.0 version (not 2.1)
