DS Lites kinda have crummy build quality. Tons of people have like bumpers and hinges break within about two years. DS Phats are built really solid.

I don't know what the quality of DSi's/XL's are though.

Dsi's are pretty solid, mine has survived such harsh treatments and on the other hand DS lite is awful.

Yeah, that happened to me once.
DS's are really strong because of there build quality, especially the DS PHAT.

Wish it was like that for all of us, dropped mine from my bed, 40 cm straight to the ground hitting the plastic mat or w/e you can call them. Result - right hinge broken completely, I can actually pull the right side of my DS's screen right out of the sockets since the hinge doesn't hold it in place anymore....
