Now, it makes no sense to buy an R4 when you can get an Acekard2 for $11.70 (when it comes back in stock) or $10.92 without the card reader (in stock)... but still an interesting find.

Actually i don't think it's a real one, but maybe a perfect clone (use same chip/same kernel).

Like I said a few post before...

I got mine.

And it looks legit (at least, the more possible, because real R4 are not produced anymore...).

I made a pcb photo but i had some problems of camera (crappy phone)...



And I lost the screw behind it, so I placed a new one and... sealed it definitively

...

The Hardware inside is the same than the original one (and it's actually amazingly well made), it runs perfectly the 1.18 kernel from R4DS.cn

Only 2gb max (or 4gb if you find one non-sdhc).

A "real" R4 so far.

Works really great, 100% boot success, 100% game load success (I tried only old games, I know newest one won't run so easily).

In conclusion: If you really want an R4, or just want to have in your collection the most famous flashcard, GO GO GO!!!!!!!!!!

I bought mine from dealextreme and it took FOREVER(nearly 1 month) to get here since it from china AND it a clone card so I suggest you buy from another site if you don't like cheap imitation.

a year ago, it wasn't unusual to spend that much on a flash card. and the r4 wasn't dead by then, either.
