Main issue from what I've read is slower write speeds, which should'nt matter AFAIK.

I ended up buying since I've already used up half my storage and won't be surprised to see more game key cards pop up.

Damn, thanks! There was a used one on Amazon Germany so snapped that up.

My 256GB SD still has plenty of free space and the Switch 2 internal storage is completely unused (about 400GB still free in total), but it really should've come with 512GB. 256GB is just too small these days.

TBH I think if SD Express was more common/cheaper or maybe Game Key Cards weren't a thing, I suspect Nintendo would have shipped with less.

Look at the Switch 1 which only had 32GB, even back when it launched that was small but regular mSD cards were at least relatively cheap.
