No. You can patch a kernel, so there's no guarantee that your exploit will work ad infinitum. This is why he's not publishing it, the moment he does is the moment its patched (if it isn't already). Whatever is found on whatever version he has, if patched, will be exclusive to that version and lower. It doesn't solve any of the major crypto problems that restrict game piracy. In fact, kernel exploits are rare and valuable. They don't happen often and the opportunity for them gets smaller and harder as patches roll over old bugs. In many ways, the hacking community also helps the security engineers build a more secure system over time. Many times, a kernel exploit is so valuable that it will never be released beyond a select group. There's actually a fairly funny parallel about this going on at this very moment: Sony does not know what the kernel exploit is on 4.x and 5.x, but they keep patching trying to close it and it keeps getting opened. 5.3 was a patch to 5.1, but there's no indication that Sony knows what they are patching. Sony is also hated by most any one in any hacking scene for their bullshit around the PS3. On the other hand, Nintendo has HackerOne working for them and they have never really done anything to the hacking scene to drive animosity other than the usual cat-and-mouse patching game, and so people are willing to report bugs/exploits for compensation, so called White Hat Hackers. The moment qlutoo releases his kexploit, is the moment anyone with suitable skills would be able to reproduce it and report it for a potentially large cash payout. Its actually potentially more worthwhile for him to report his own kexploit rather than release it publicly, since he could make a lot of money. If he just blanket releases it or a guide to it, someone else could also report it for a payout in his stead.
