Hacking Will a 4Gb SDHC Work?

Will it work? I mean not for storing Shop Channle games , but for homebrew.

Recent/updated Wii homebrew should support SDHCs without problems, but some of the older homebrews won't work.

It will work for homebrew. Certain WAD managers will work as well.

It will work only, if you have System Menu 4.0 installed.
There are some exception althrough.

So the only way I can get the SDHC to work in homebrew is to update to 4.0? So how can I update yet still play homebrew and such?

Just get homebrew channel version 1.0 or up you you didn't do it already. sdhc card will work in all applications that:
1. support sd cards
2. are compiled with the new libogc


You only need the 4.0 system menu to use sdhc cards with official nintendo software.

The SDHC makes more sense if you are in 4.0 where you can store/move WAD games to free up the wii memory. For Homebrew i think it should work, For you to launch/install WAD's from the SDHC you need the updated WAD manager 1.3 that can detect SDHC.
