I might get a wiikey clone to convert, just want to see how. I saw the picture made in paint, doesnt really describe much..

Not neccessary. By an ATMEGA8L and flash it with OpenWii 2.4
Either way, you win.

Exactly.

However, I do recommend OpenWii on an Atmega8l, just as the chip is more powerful/flexible than the PIC. The functionality is the same.

any tutorial to solder these by any chance?

and thank you

Then you shouldn't build your own chip.

What's your level of experience with electronics? Have you soldered small items before?

I believe that diagram shows a serial port programmer. You'd need some software to use it though.

no soldering expirience

im not that good with electronics in that sense, more of a software guy than hardware...

And everyone in my area wants $50+ to solder a wiikey and wont accept any other modchips so I'm pretty much SOL unless I do it myself.

I think I may just get the YAOSM

anyone have a good tut for soldering it and anything else useful so I don't screw up?

okay, I took apart my wii, put it back together... never do that when your exhausted, I kept screwing up, putting screws in wrong places, got it all sorted...

Anyway,s my D2B has cut legs, so I would need to sand down the chip? Is the chip just plastic or does it contain anything within it?

I would consider waiting and seeing how the wasabi chip pans out if you have a d2b with cut legs: sorting such a thing is not easy for those who have played with soldering irons for years.

well, I got my microcontroller today to use on a YAOSM, but then I needa buy a programmer

is it worth it, or just get a wiikey cause it seems they still update it
