Concerning my WiiKey Fusion

What I have working on it...
1) The light on the mod chip lights up.
2) The Wiikey Menu boots and is operational.

What doesn't work:
1) The DVD drive - It lights up briefly then dies until the chip is removed.
2) Micro SD card is not being read as WBFS format even though my computer recognizes it as WBFS format. BUT the SD card reader IS recognizing the card is inside.
-----
Without the chip installed the Wii functions normally.

My Wii has the GC2 or GC2-D2 drive chip
It had the latest firmware update as of June 15th 2010...

Help please?

From Wiikeys site
* Only SD features will work on D3-2 and D4 systems, not DVD

So maybe the chip somehow disable your DVD drive to work.

YES! well aware of that BUT... I did state that my drive is either a GC2 or GC2-D2 drive chip
and i checked that it is compatible with the chip... so i still dont know why my dvd is being disabled nor why the sd card is being read incorrectly

All chips are GC2-XXXXXX

If you got a GC2-D2(Nothing) then you have one of the new drives.

How old is your Wii?

just looked it up and "The Wii has a RVL-001(USA) model number and is produced for Mexico/Canada/USA. The copyright year is 2006."
AND
" * There is a 50% chance the chipset is GC2-D2C (v1).
* And there is also a 50% chance the chipset is GC2-D2C2 (v2) and the drive has the new metal clip."
Serial is LU574405089

It's official
Nintendo has made a hardware revision to the Wii DVD drive circuit board that blocks all current D2C mod chips from working.

Reports on other forums have people stating they have tried ARGON, D2Pro and Wassabi and none work. (I have not heard if D2CKEY works but i assume no)

The Drive Chip is still called the GC2-D2C but what i have noticed is that the second row of numbers normally underneath that line is no longer present.

I tried installing a ARGON in a new wii last night and when it didn't work i found a few posts that these are turning up so I figured i would get a thread started here to warn people as well.

So LU567xxxxxxx = BAD!!!! AVOID!! Other serial number ranges are sure to come.

picked that up from a forum post somewhere thats about 2 years old... my serial is AFTER that... but still the Wiikey Fusion is suppose to be Compatible..

Yes, it works with all DVD drives but ONLY the SD function and not the DVD according to the wiikey team.
So that might cause this problem you are having.

Else email the Wiikey team

ok... that might be the case for the DVD... now why would the SD card not be read as having the WBFS format.. even though my computer/programs recognizes it as a WBFS format ie WBFS Manager and Wii Game Manager.
