Homebrew Wii U Download Helper illegal?

Hello Everyone,
I just used the Wii U Download Helper and now have the fear, that Nintendo or someone sees that and i have to go to court. I now have it on my Wii U on the System Storage. Pls tell me your experiences thanks

The part that is illegal is really the keys that you have to give the program in order for it to work. These keys allow you to decrypt the information without paying for it, thus violating DMCA. Now, it seems you're in Germany, and I am not familiar with Germany's DMCA implementation. But for the most part, they all seem to agree that circumventing encryption of copyrighted material is illegal.

If you fear /that/ much that you're going to have the gestapo at your door, just use a proxy or a VPN when you download.

Just use a custom VPN or hide.me if you're still afraid to download, lol.

I've used hide.me, but highly recommend avoid this VPN. It appoints blacklisted IPs that were caught spamming therefore blocked by many sites. If you still need a VPN, read this guide.

If you are so scared your going go get arrested and have to go to court, then get a VPN and use a VPN to download from USB Helper. With a VPN, your ISP or Nintendo, cannot see anything your downloading. Your ISP can just see how much bandwidth your using, but they cannot see what your downloading using that bandwidth.

Technicality: Nintendo knows exactly what you're downloading. They just have very little chance of being able to match up that download with you because they see the VPN provider's IP address. If anonymity is your reason for using a VPN, you have to trust that your VPN provider is not logging their IP allocations. You also have to be positive that nothing you send identifies you by association.

For example, if you make the VPN connection from your router "so that everything is anonymous", then your Wii U (which they can identify as yours) makes the connection on the same IP. Sure, it's more work to draw the conclusion, and we know they won't bother, but it doesn't mean they can't.
