Hacking wii shop channel

Hi
I have version 4.3 wii, and installed homebrew and cfg usb loader few months ago.
I would like to buy few games from wii shop channel.
If wii asks me to update when trying to access wii shop channel, is it safe to update?

You just need to install the latest shop channel version and the latest IOS56....Modmii is your friend...you can get them from "Download Page 1" in Modmii.

To answer the question itself, I'd give it a 95% chance that updating would remove your cIOS files, and a 1% chance the Wii would semi-brick. Nothing Priiloader couldn't fix.
