Hacking Wii Serial

I have a Japan Wii with mod chip installed, but when I remove the account, I get this error 206651 where it says my serial is not wrong.

There is a thread bout this http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=129617 which i think he has the same problem as me.

I suspect when they install the mod chip, probably the mix up the housing and the mainboard. So is there anyway for me to check my Wii Serial using homebrew? I would like to remove the Wii Shop Channel Account to change the region!

Run the Wii backup Disc and it will show you your System ID and Serial.
this will work if your Wii is below 4.x systemmenu (3.4,3.3,3.2...)

I downloaded it already, its 700mb i think, should I burn in CD or DVD?

How do I use the Disc? My Wii is 3.2U, launch with Gamma?

Use a dvd, the wii drive can't read a cd.

I only know the backup disc work in recovery mode(savemiifrii), but u can try any loader or the disc channel because you have a modchip.

My modchip no longer work because its a WiiKey and with 1.9J something like that, I heard need to change to 1.9U then only it will work with a US firmware, but I do not have a GameCube Controller.


So I need savemiifrii? What is a savemiifrii? :S

Take a GC controller and plug it into port 4 of the Wii.
press UP-DOWN-LEFT-Right at start up of the Wii and than enter the Wii Backup Disc.
