Hardware Wii noises

When I turn on my Wii (with a disc on it) it makes this weird noises it's like: *click* then the disc starts spinning and I hear this *whiirr* and then it does some other *click* then its silent.Though I can hear some sort of noise, the same noise a computer does when it's turned on.
Is it normal?

yep, that's normal, that's just the Wii making sure it can read the disc correctly

Agreed. That's the normal startup noise.
