Theoretically, this allows to copy files (wads and modified savegames) from the SD card via the data management menu.

eh, this program doesn't. But perhaps if you signed those files, it would.

Yeah, that's what I meant anyway. But actually, I supposed this was obvious.

so can someone list the benefits of knowing your Wii's keys?

we can already...

play burned Isos (with a modchip of course)
play Wiiware titles
play VC titles
play most emulators
play Homebrew games
use Homebrew apps

...all with relative ease. i just don't understand what knowing the keys will lead to.

working N64 emulator?
injecting roms made easier?
I don't see the use of this program either but perhaps it's useful in combination with the custom firmware.

It will not help an N64 emulator. That is for sure. Injections will most likely not be easier too, although now you could perhaps sign the WADs created for your Wii, which would make installation a bit easier.

What I said earlier about the possibility of using the data management screen... Now that I've thought about it, that probably wouldn't work anyway, because the Wii won't accept titles from SD card when the corresponding ticket isn't installed on the Wii, at least it's like that with save games.

Ok. It is my turn to ask a question: This is no use to people who don't hack the wii....yet correct?

Correct. (I think this is the first accurate post in this thread....)

let me ask this. can this be a possible door for the entire iso loading w/o a modchip deal?

Fast summon,

1) No it won't make you able to load ISOs without a modchip
2) It will only help people to create homebrews, the people that knows what to do with them
3) Thanks for the work Bushing! =)

Does this program still work? Have NOT done any of the latest updates since 3.3 came out. Get a little spinner under the "Sending things to Earth......" message for a while then it just stops and never does anything more. Could it be that IOS11 is no longer on Nintendo's site and therefore this program can't download it? Can anyone with an older system version test to see if it's just my system doing this?

This "old assed thread" needs to be bumped right now. The 3.4 update blocks the install of any trucha signed wads, so it is about time to start developing tools that use you wii's own keys when packing to pack up wads or else the homebrew scene could be in trouble later on.

Um I don't think that the keys that this programs extracts are capable of what your'e suggesting, also I think that this program downloads and installs a temporary IOS to do what it does and I think that it wouldn't be able to do that without utilizing a CIOS in the new 3.3 firmware.

People should use this before they accept these newer updates.

It's not that hard, this program only needs to be used once to get the entire list of keys, and they don't change in the future.

Hi,

Im currently on 3.2e so this will be ok for me to use?
Do i just change the xyzzy.dol to boot.dol and put in the apps/folder and run through hbc?
Will it change the way my wii works or just it just give me the codes?
Sorry im new at this.

Cheers
