This mod is about putting a Gamecube memory card inside the Wii.

Quick Review:

1. You need to open the Wii fully - not just up to the drive (for a drivemod). The only directions I have found are here: http://www.xbox-modchips.com/wii-tutorials...embly-guide.htm

2. I used this basic guide, though it is kind of self explanatory: http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.ph...4323&page=3

So, I've opened it up, did the mod, and closed it up. I didn't connect the three wires marked as 'unused'.

I can view everything fine in the Wii menu and load saved Windwaker games perfectly.
...except I can't save. Windwaker tells me the card is damaged.

Does anyone have any advice as to which pins may be bridged, or not connected? Can I leave those three out? And what gauge wire should I be using? Thanks in advance.

Do you have some form of insulation (such as electrical tape) between the memory card and the Wii motherboard? If not, the card could be touching something on the board that is causing a short. It's hard to tell without pictures, though.

Make sure all your solder points are covered with insulation also, to prevent any other shorts.

Here is another webpage with the internal mod. It's not as pretty looking, but it may help you reflect on something you may have missed.
