Wii going to a black screen when selecting a game

Hello,

I've not modded many Wii's , maybe 6 roughly. Having an issue with one my son has had for a while. Wii Games will not load, Everything else loads even with the forwarders. Emulators etc..
I'm using USB Loader GX and gamecube games work. Wii Games will not work, All I get is a black screen. No Boot screen with the "Start Game" Button. Sometimes I get this

The Hard Drive is External, Inside a USB caddy( not sure if 2.0 or 3.0 ) but has always worked. The file system is Fat32 and gamecube games are in "games" with the correct association. Wii games display and are visible, They are loaded using Wii Backup Manager so are in the correct format and location.

USB Loader GX is version 1272

Everything worked last time we played it.

Have never seen that error when launching a Wii game in USBLoaderGX.. Is that the black screen you were talking about?
Does this happen with out-of-region Wii games or all?
Do you have region free settings enabled in Priiloader?
Is it plugged into port 0?
Are you using a "y" usb cable with the hdd enclosure?
