I'm having trouble getting USB Loader GX to recognize two drives - one NTFS and one WBFS, both are compatible. The WBFS drive should work because Coverfloader saw it without problems. But I'd really like to use a loader that accepts NTFS so I'm testing USB Loader GX. First step is getting it to at least see the WBFS I think. My config is below.

OK, I'm a little closer now. I updated to r938 and now it reads WBFS just fine, but it can't see the games on the NTFS drive. At least it see's the drive though, but it wants to format it. I named the folder with my Wii backups "WBFS" and that folder is in the root of the drive. Hmmm....

Apparently USB Loader GX has problems identifying NTFS and FAT32 if there isn't a WBFS partition. Configurable USB Loader seems to work just fine so I'll stick with that for now.

If you format a drive to FAT32 then you do need Hermes in order for the loader to recognize the USB drive connected. I when through that myself. I just switched back to WBFS which I'll stick with from now on.

Gx has no issues with Fat partitions (or NTFS).

You have all the right Cios's (Waninkoko 249 must be above rev 18 to see Fat, Hermes 222rev4 also works with Fat) so update the loader to 1027 (or at least past 1000). I have two fat32 hard drives and they both work fine.

The main advantage of using something other than WBFS is that your PC can see it directly so it can be defragmented and if you have an issue with a file or the drive then recovery of the information can be a lot easier.
