Wondering if theirs some sort of homebrew app that allows you to keep the disk light on while a game is being played; is this available?

I don't think it's possible due to limitations with the Wii's filestructure. You can probably send yourself a message and not open it.

Do a search in the hacking section, There was an older compile of usbloaderGX which had a couple of lines of code inserted which made the light stay on. There are also a few very simple hardware mods which allow you to make it stay on

the light cant stay on because when you load a game i reloads and will cut of the light unless you dump your game put the code in the game then reburn the game and play thru a backup loader

because its coded in the homebrew so when the homebrew code loads up it loads the always on light code and i believe that they took it out for fear of killing the leds on the slot

It was never an official GX feature, Someone just discovered the mod and added the code themselves before compiling it.

Do LED's burn out? Ive never had one go on me in anything!

does it have the ability for it to run in dim mode or the flicker mode (what the light does when you get mail)?

indeed it did just that (not like GX when you select a game it does a FULL POWER SOLID LIGHTUP) hell hibous Homebrew Loader would make the wii run with the same lighting effect as you would get from a message on the messageboard (you can see that with say the pokemon ranch wiiware if you send a pic to the message board for example)

but yeah hell hibous code is open source as well Usb Loader GX's

I have always wondered why Preloader didnt have that value yet for Hacks.ini it surely did exist on older firmwares using preloader but its values are not posted at Wiibrew.org now days?

might want to visit the french site WIINEWZ or WIINEWS cant reemember the spelling exactly but thats where hell hibou resides

he would SURELY be able to assist with this lil endeavor
