yeah I've been pretty under impressed with the Telltale games on wii, which is unfortunate because the controls are great for adventure games

Bahh, I doubt they improved the cruddiness of how Sam and Max runs on Wii.

Yup. I remember playing Season 1 on the Wii and thinking... "okay, next season, I will just get it on Steam" but after getting caught up in the story/adventure I kinda learned to ignore the jerky-glitchy gameplay. Now, a year or so later I went and bought season 2 and all the glitchy gameplay that I had forgotten about is there again. It's sad because these types of games are a perfect match for the Wii controls.

It's a shame Telltale games are so badly programmed. They run incredibly bad on the Wii, and almost just as bad on PC and PS3. I really don't understand; these games look pretty basic, but they feel really slow, like you're running them on a device that it wasn't really made for.

The Strongbad ones I reckon ran well enough of course they are less demanding as others, Monkey Island sadly suffers from having to be compressed into 40MB.

No reason to why retail games can't be good looking.

Telltale's games are just plain unoptimized for anything, really. Like Strong Bad's unnecessarily high-poly models for stupid things like bushes. Worse, the game was cel-shaded, which meant MORE polygons for the big, black borders on everything. Very, very inefficient. Tisk, tisk!

    @BigOnYa,
    and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

    There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

    That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.

    I live maybe 3 minutes from a Dairy Queen, so I would just go there for ice cream anything anyways. I usually get the Oreo Blizzard, or a Peanut Buster Parfait.
