Why is windows 10 so unstable

Like seriously file explorer has crashed 7 times today

what are the specs of your PC? windows 10 must have a Core i3 2+ GHz processor, 4 gigs of RAM and at least 60gb of hard drive space, and even at that windows 10 will be slow
try windows 7 or upgrade your PC

have you done halfshady stuff to get rid of cortana or stuff like that? did you install stuff that messes with the right-click menu a lot, like filerfrog and teracopy and a bunch of zip utilities? things lik these (often in combination) caused a lot of instability with explorer on my laptop in the past.

of course, it could also be system files being damaged, a bad update or something.

are you using win10 that was upgraded from win7? this is also sometimes causing issues.


in any other regard, windows 10 and windows 7 are leagues above and beyond the older windows systems in terms of stability.

I have an i5 quadcore 3.20 ghrz 8 gigs of ddr3 ram and over a tb of space

Check the health of your HDD.

well, the update from an old windows version is known for sometimes leaving your with an instable system, since you just take a crapton of old registry and system files with you that don't really have any place in the new system. though i hear the biggest complaints from 7 to 10 upgrades.

a data backup and a fresh install is usually prefered and could improve your situation, though i believe you'd need a fresh win 10 key for a clean system installation at this point.

No, he can just use the same key, if he does a reinstall, he can find it out with software like produkey.
