I am also looking to buy a 2nd one. Mainly to play the firmware lottery, you never know what you'll get, and to get good deals. Switches are quite overpriced in my country (390 €), but you can find decent deals on ebay for about 320 € shipped (and I have to mention that shipping to my country is expensive as well).

If I don't get a good firmware, I can just resell it again as "new, just opened to test" and maybe even keep the joycons or something.

If you use the serial number thread as a reference it really isn't much of a lottery. You could also get one off Craigslist or eBay with a confirmed firmware version.

Tried that route. Sellers either don't want to give you the serial number, even just the part of it that matters. The confirmed firmware switches are just too pricey to be worth it, in my opinion.

I already have a exploitable switch. It would be nice to find a even lower firmware, but I am mainly trying to bundle as much as possible for as low as possible and then resell what I don't need, because retail prices here are insane.

EDIT:

Just got a good deal on ebay for my 2nd switch, including shipping and ridiculous paypal tax, 320 € total. That's still 50 € cheaper than the average price in my country, so if the firmware is not right, I can still resell for the same price I bought it for or even charge a bit more for profit.

3.0.0 and 4.1.0. My 2nd Switch was originally on 3.0.2 but I ended up updating it for game updates/eShop

should i get switch now or wait them to hack it?
If you want a hackable Switch, you want to get one now. The longer you wait, the harder it will be to find a low-firmware Switch for sale at a reasonable price.

Completely up to date. I'll only stop updating once an exploit catches up to me. I honestly don't mind paying for games and if TX manages to pull off a fw agnostic release then in all set.

newest FW cause I'm a casual and have zelda + mario to keep me busy for now. Waiting for xecuter chip
