IIRC, the purpose of Atmosphere is to completely rewrite Horizon OS for the needs of the hacking community. This is why it is called atmosphere, in reference to the many layers of the earth's atmosphere being compared to the Switch levels of security. ReiNX and SX are just patches on top of Horizon.

Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

In the end, Atmosphere is technically the best option... if it happens. I don't believe this bullshit that one is cleaner than the other. For all three you use the same fucking method of hacking your Switch via RCM.

Indeed. Atmosphere will be the best solution at the end of the NX's lifecycle. It will have a complete reimplementation of everything you could possibly want, will be well documented (internally), and is FOSS, so the various security patches found and implemented so far will be relatively painless to port (as has already been demonstrated with current WIP Atmosphere). In the end, Atmosphere will be the very best offering. It is not there yet. I still stand behind my original statements that ReiNX will scratch the current itch of the pirate crowd, allowing atmosphere to develop unimpeded. I see no problems with the current status quo.

People just need to stop forming camps and beating drums for no reason.

sorry for stupid question

what can you do with custom system modules?

thx

If you have the savvy to do it-- One thing would be to implement USB storage support for the NX. (The dock has USB ports on it. Why not use them for something?) Another might be to implement other filesystem types, like EXT4.

There are quite a few things that COULD be done with a custom system module. The more pertinent question is what HAS been done with custom system modules. Currently, not a whole lot that I know of, but that will likely change.
