Would be to be able to run multiplayer against those who has windows games.

So say you wanted to play a friend but he's a pc gamer only, you would still be able to play him while you're on your xbox one and he's on his PC.

I know it would never happen but since both products are made by microsoft I don't see why they couldn't come up with a plausible way for it to work.

I think the revamped Final Fantasy MMO can do it... with the PS3. They said it won't happen for the 360 because Microsoft will not share servers.

If they did this they'd probably have more people buying gold, I get that it may cause overload but still most windows games let you play on live as in play under your account.

Cross play servers were any system can play, yeah that won't happen. It would not be best any ways because all you would hear is
"Shut up faggot ps3 is better"
"Your such a dumb noob ps3 fanboy, Xbox all the way"
"Pc has better graphics so fuck my controls were superior"
"Your still using your T.Vs you dumb turds, I can play full games on my wii u gamepad you stupid apes ~gets_banned~"

I like that idea of playing multi player windows games, with someone on a PC if you're playing on your Xbone. However, the chances of that to happen are like 0.0000069%

Microsoft was going to allow this, but they did a pretty large study and found that at FPS games PC's just had too much of an edge over consoles. The article I read about it claimed that mouse and keyboard was just too good when compared a gamepad.

Some of rumor is here, I couldn't find a link to the original study.

Oh. If that were to happen, I'd look more into the Xbone then I would into the PS4. But PS4 is better, bitch.
EDIT:
Not only PS4, I mean Sony. Like fuck off Microsoft, don't make video games. DON'T PLS. Sony is better :D But they did suck in the VITA.

Beat me to it. PC gamers have a heavy advantage in FPS's due to the controls.

Clicked a bunch of links, this looks to be the place everything leads back to.

This happened with some of their Games For Windows Live titles. You could have played with 360 players on your PC and vice-versa, althou it wasn't as popular as people were expecting to be because GFWL was such a terrible third-party DRM.

Anywho the only way this would work if Microsoft somehow partnered up with Valve but seeing how Microsoft rejected Portal's 2 cross-platform offer I doubt it.

XBOX One and PS4 will be hacker-free environments for a while. If they mix a multiplayer game with PC, XBONE/PS4 players will play against people using cheat engine and other crackers around.
