I just started using Avira. Used to use AVG for years until they added some process (or whatever) that automatically checks your hard drives when you don't want it to. With an external hard drive plugged in it wouldn't allow you to eject it because of the lame process running. AVG knows about it, but hasn't done anything for 6 months.

I usually don't use Antivirus, but if I notice anything suspicious happening I'll usually run Microsoft Security Essentials for a few weeks.

After years of using Norton, I finally listened to Leo LaPorte recommend NOD32 on the radio and decided to give it a try.
After using NOD32 I was so impressed that I have switched for good. Fast and effective, it would be my recommendation to a friend.

Malwarebytes makes a good adjunct to it but it is a different product for a different purpose.

Avira... there's a free edition and it is good... really gets the basic job done.
Also Kaspersky... both edition are way superior.

I Use Avira Free Edition since it's FREE!
