I remember when my dad bought our first computer when I was eight years old. The Zodiac game distribution pack came free with it. Well, anyways, System Shock was on the list. I have recently started playing it again. I was wondering what engine it uses, it looks similar to the Duke Nukem engine. But I may be wrong... If the developer working on Duke Nukem was able to port System Shock to the DS I would be so happy, I'd probably do things in my pants. So yeah, does it really use that engine? Or does it take too much resources to even be ported to the DS?

According to the wikipedia its an "Enhanced Ultima Underworld engine".

From a quick read there is no reason why it couldn't be ported to the DS.

The main obstacle to this though is lack of source code: all those other titles had source released, sure there is http://tsshp.sourceforge.net/about.html but to port to the DS the original code is needed really as the above project is essentially an emulation which is great for PCs but not for this sort of thing, of course quake was considered impossible by many as was the GBC on GBA.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
