    my dad works for nintendo.
did you heard about custom engines? an engine that was built by the game developers
i believe pokemon runs in a custom engine, otherwise you would see a logo on the opening screens...

Only some games are built with known engines (like Splinter Cell 3D which uses Unreal Engine 2.5).
Instead, all these game engines are closed source.

Is there any point to asking? All of the engines available are either not available other than if you work at certain studios (ie. mt framework if you work at ubisoft), or require you to be a licensed Nintendo developer anyways. Most likely most developers use a framework instead of an engine anyways. Even with unreal engine you wouldn't be able to use it due to you not being licensed by Nintendo to begin with so this whole question seems like a moot point
