Hey ^^

I've just switched from Fastboot3DS to normal B9S. Luma3DS is installed on CTRNAND and there is no boot.firm on my SD.
I've tried to load another firm file from the luma payloads folder on my SD card via the chainloader, but weirdly it directly launched GodMode9. I guessed that this is a weird bug, but the strange part is that the same thing happens when I start the console without SD card. There is a luma folder on CTRNAND, but it doesn't even have a payloads folder as far as I can see. Can anyone explain what happens there? That is probably the weirdest thing I have ever seen on this console.

fastboot loads godmode by default/without pushing anything but the normal godmode button. maybe it's left over now that you've changed to normal b9s. I'm using fastboot myself, and I haven't gone back to normal b9s, so I don't know what might happen.

one other thing is that I believe godmode can be on the ctrnand iirc, so that's not uncommon. press home when you boot up the console to make sure you're not still using fast boot. it should load the fast boot menu.

That was my first theory too, but nope. Fastboot3DS is not installed anymore.
I am pretty sure too that GodMode9 has to be anywhere on the CTRNAND. But where if not in the luma folder?

Alright, that was the problem. There is a second luma folder in rw which also contains the GodMode9 firm. I am not sure why there is also one directly on the root then. But yea, adding other payloads to this folder fixed the problem. Thank you. :)

yw, I removed my micro sd card from my n3ds xl just now to see what happens with fast boot, so I set that up. with fast boot, the payloads can be anywhere apparently, and if you choose quick boot, it will show the fast boot splash screen, which I think you can disable, then your splash screen (if you have one), then boot into godmode or luma based on the button press as well as other firm based on button press. I hadn't set that up, I guess.

Luma3DS only loads payloads and config from ctrnand if it is being loaded from ctrnand. This is the intended design. If you want to load it from the SD card, Luma3DS also has to be on the SD card. The same also applies to loading external code and LayeredFS I think.

op, I disabled the fast boot splash screen without an sd card inserted. I had to disable it in luma, then use custom in fastboot or else the splash screen is shown twice. lol now, it's exactly configured to normal luma and godmode from an sd card.
