When you install DVDX like this (on IOS249), can it still do the things it previously did? Like enabling emulators to read from DVD?

Yes, you should be able to.

i suggest to consider this and maybe add the documentation to the first post:

my questions are:
how to reverse the procedure?

what i mean is, how to uninstall everything and bring your wii back to normal?

so
1) cIOS Uninstallation
2) DVDX Uninstallation

well.. all the rest is well known.. but what many ppl would like to know now i think is about installing and also uninstalling everything related to the backup loader.
you know this help not to get stuck if further updates are released.

simply use AnyTitleUninstaller on CIOS (should be IOS 249) & DVDX hidden channel

I just have to open an .exe to patch it correct?
So if I'm running from a mac and use Virtual PC 7 just to open the file I should be okay? Then Can I burn the "patched" ISO with an app on a mac at a low burn speed?

i found that imgburn wouldnt burn the patched ISOs for me failed on 10% 2 times(waist of disks) i use power2go and that works fine nero should also work fine then

this is probably the most common question being asked, so the rest of you who may ask should pay attention.

there is only one version of DVDx out to the public.
you need it installed, and if you did a normal or patchmii install before,
you have to uninstall it first

It has 3 install options:
-normal
-patchmii
-advanced

...normal does not use a cIOS
...patchmii uses patchmii if it is installed which is cIOS 254
...advanced you get to choose the cIOS

AND you NEED to choose IOS 249 (this is the new cIOS for this project)
this new cIOS must be installed first of course
DVDx DVD-Video playback via MPlayerDVD will still function fine

so, choose advanced install and do 249 when installing the DVDx stub.

i suggest you to uninstall it and make a clean install of DVDX by selecting the ios249 option

and yes, you have to patch all isos to be able to play them.

Figured that would happen....it was a bad idea to leak this, we were basically guarenteed this nice gift in like another weeks time.....I am chipped, but it was going to be nice to have two different loading methods in case such a need arose....a lot of people have said they won't use it out of respect for waninkoko, and I think that is great, I have no interest in making use of something he was unfinished with.

He's done a lot more for our community than most people, it's too bad people can't exercize a little patience.

However, I would say, he can't really blame the masses, one of his own chosen beta testers leaked it.

but lol, what was Waninkoko thinking by distributing his loader to anybody asking for it on his MSN ? Look at the tons of betatesters who already tried it ! The leak was predictable and Waninkoko, if he is not naive, could not ignore that such uncontrolled distributionwould result in this.. and now he comes telling he feel injured and does not want to be kind anymore ? pretty easy


No, I'm more and more convinced that this was well planned: as told before, wanin finally get paid by this modchip company and in exchange they asked him not to release his loader anymore. He just invented this leak pretext and started diffusing his work to anonymous MSN contacts because he knew a leak would be unavoidable and then he could give a reason to stop working on this

For your compatibility list:

Super Paper Mario PAL burned on a Taiyo Yuden DVD-R at 4X. Works for a while, but some music stuttering when loading between scenes, and also locked up after 15-20 minutes of play (right after scene with Bleck and his minions). Probably related to load speed limit.
