Just put your SD Card into a SD-USB adapter and plug this into the USB port.
There is no other way (yet).

He would have to write a new cIOS for that. The currect cIOS only supports discs and the 1st usb storage device. At the level where this has to be programmed it's not as easy as telling a media player to just use sd instead of usb, it's a lot more complicated. What i'm saying is: Only Waninkoko, WiiGator and/or Kwiirk are able to do this, and it would take quite some work to do it. Oh, and for now there isn't any sd code with usb2.0 speed, so a sd card loader would be slower than the (3x restricted) disc backup launcher.

It wouldn't be slower than DVD. You can stream full 1080p, Blu-ray compliant video from a good SDHC card.

I'm sorry i didn't write down my thoughts correctly. Sd card loading is at usb1.1 speed now, which is ~1 MB/s which is much slower than the 3x reading.

I think it's plugged into usb inside the Wii. For now nobody managed to get a usable speed out of the sd card, maybe with the new IOS since 3.4 firmware. Hmm, would be pretty easy to build a cIOS with the new IOS from 3.4 or 4.0, but would have next to nothing use. Installing it as IOS249 would kill WAD Manager. And as i said it's a little complicated to change the cIOS dip module from usb reading to sd reading.
