My laptop has been fine so far until I start watching BD anime. For scenes that are light on action, runs as smoothly as can be. As for scenes that are heavy in action.... the sound continues on while the video starts lagging, which then of course causes the sound to stop as it waits for the video to catch up...

    I got:
    Intel Core i3 M330
    ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650
    4 GB RAM
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

Other then upgrading the hardware, can I tweak around the settings of MPC and CCCP to have no lag?

Try using CoreAVC to decode H.264 video. There's a bit of information here.
