VGA 2012 Nominees Announced

That's right, everybody, it's time once again for that embarrassment to the games' industry known as Spike TV's Video Game Awards. This year, though, they're promising that it'll be "super awesome and cool you guys, no really, don't leave!" as they do every year... but this time, they really mean it.

Here are some of the categories and nominees.

Game of the Year

• Assassin's Creed III (Ubisoft/Ubisoft Montreal)
• Dishonored (Bethesda Softworks/Arkane Studios)

The Escapist

The event will be hosted by Samuel L. Jackson, who evidently just can't say no to a paycheck, and will feature musical performances from Tenacious D (Hurrah!) and Linkin Park (Hurumph.). Also, there will probably be some reveal trailers and announcements (aka the only parts worth watching), but you can just watch them right after the show anyway, so... yeah.

The VGAs will air December 7th. Just remember: Whoever wins, we lose.

Well, hell. The only game I was even remotely interested in this year was Borderlands 2, and that's one fine motherfucker of a game.

That is a pretty awful list...and then I remember previous VGA's and just really am not surprised at all. At least half the musical performances will be good. Craptastic D really fits the show, I dunno how poor Linkin Park got screwed into performing for this travesty though.

I will not be watching this again. It saddened my heart last year that mr.Miyamoto excepted his lifetime achievement award or whatever from these bastards.

Hating on the D is one thing, but really, that's the best portmanteau you could come up with? Craptastic D? That's just lazy.

Let me just tell you the results since it's pretty obvious.

• GOTY: Dishonored since they sucked Bethesda's cock and let it penetrate them anally last year with Skyrim.
• Best Action: Dishonored for the same reasons
• Best Shooter: Blops II since it's always fucking CoD
• Studio: Arkane for aforementioned cock sucking and anal penetration
• Most Anticipated: GTA V because it's the only game their audience would recognize.

I watched it last year and it was quite painful. Horrible writing (you got NPH for god's sake!) and then once they had a "performance" from My Chemical Romance I realized it was time to change the channel. Luckily Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was on.
