I am wondering the same thing too.
Seeing how the movie seems to be based on the Lethal Protector comics, we should AT LEAST see the appearance of one of the other symbiotes like Scream, Agony, Riot, Lasher or Phage.
I am betting we might see Scream and perhaps Lasher or Phage for some visual flare, taking into consideration the other two test-specimens that are shown in the trailer (a woman and a guy strapped up) who seem to have symbiotes as well.

I am also making the speculation that perhaps Carnage MIGHT show up at the very end, perhaps as the final villain, or he might make a post-credits scene to hopefully continue the Venom movie with a continuation into the Separation Anxiety story arc.

Personally, I am VERY happy they are going with this approach for the movie.
Both Lethal Protector and Separation Anxiety are my all time favorite Venom stories, and taking then into inspiration for the movie is just a dream for me.
I do hope they do it justice properly, all I simply want to be satisfied is that we get a considerable amount of Venom in full-suit mode kicking ass, and that we get to see a fight between at least two symbiotes, Venom and one other one, whatever it might be.
That's all I ask out of the movie.

how can Venom even work without Spider-Man? The way Venom looks when it's attached to a human is inspired by Spider-Man, because Venom was always worn by someone who wants to take revenge on Spider-Man(atleast to my knowledge), so the whole thing makes no sense(unless Spider-Man has an appereance in the movie, which I doubt)
