Hacking Various controllers with homebrew

I'm looking at buying new classic or pro controllers. In my experience, the classic controllers that plug into the wiimotes work fairly well. Although, I'm curious if a wireless pro controller would work in vWii homebrew channel with various emulators. This includes the Wii, Wii U, and off-brand (NexiLux, for example) wireless pro controllers. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.
