Homebrew Use the 3ds camera on PC - Possible?

I have been googling for a long time and I have not found more than a post from 2011 in another forum, saying that it was not possible.
11 years later I open the thread again, can the 2DS/3DS camera be used on the PC?
I have no idea of the technical details, I don't even know what programming language to use for this and I don't think I knew where to start either.
 
Likely possible. You just need homebrew/CFW, and some knowledge on programming, as I don't think anyone else has made a tool for this yet.
 
You can easily take pics/ video then FTP it to PC. But if your intentions are to use it like a webcam, I wouldn't bother. The picture quality is not that good, and webcams are dirt cheap nowdays. Good luck though.

Why would you, though? Just buy a cheap dollar webcam and you'd have a better experience with that. Necrobumping threads is frowned upon also.
