I have modded my Wiiu with Tirimisu. After installing USB helper Wiiu game to sd card I went to Homebrew and USB Loader GX to install game to USB and at about 50% I received failed error need patch. I'm not 100% what it said but I know it said something about patch. Has anyone had this happen?

It’s a bit hard to understand what your problem is . if I understand you correctly you have a wii u with tiramisu and you have downloaded a wii game with wiiu usb helper. . . . . . .
These games (WiiVC) are installed with wup installer gx and not with usbloader gx. . . .
Do you have installed the signature patches (01_sigpatches.rpx) correctly? If not you can follow this guide https://wiiu.hacks.guide/#/tiramisu/sd-preparation.
If that does not help try to install something different
