Ok, well I thought someone would have caught on a little at least by now.
Well then we will start with some more information.
The wii u formatted usb has what appears to be four sections. The first section appears to contain the console specific information. Then the blank data (zeros). Followed by some unknown information, then the logical partition.
Where we will edit is the unknown section. It starts somewhere in offset 0966xxxxxx. Remove 15-18 rows of data in this section from the beginning of the data in 0966xxxxxx right after the zeros. (best hex editor to use is wxhexeditor)
Once removed, you'll need to get something in there to match your existing data and somewhat bypass the "console specific" section (so your pc will read it) Where I started was with some older mac exploits. (macatyourservice.sit)
Where I inserted it was where I just deleted those lines (you'll have to open another hex window and open macatyourservice.sit and copy/paste the data)
From there some lines will appear readable. (macatyourservice.sit didn't open all just the first one we started with)
If you know what you are looking at the wii u data closely resembles mac.
As stated many times we will never give you exactly what you need to blow it open. But will attempt to guide.
(inb4 the bandwagon comes to town and assumes I am posting it for them and attempts to say it doesn't work without trying it)
We refuse to be the ones that bring any sort of homebrew or cheats to the wii u. But I personally would love to see it happen.
Also when you edit this part of the data you can dd it back to your usb and continue using it as if it never happened. (the wii u doesn't miss it so it responds as if it was never changed) This running without notice will help with adding things to your data. (alterations and whatnot)
Anyway I will give very little assistance and support with this information. But hopefully now you get it. It works, it plays, and with the right stuff will allow for adding things to your wii u formatted usb.

So is no one around that can even look at this and examine it..? If so -- this is why there is no hack. It sounds like someone is hinting at being able to have space to inject code to be run on the Wii U. Sounds like this code would have the escalated privileges needed.

But it was met with what amounted to fart and d*ck jokes and basically "what is this gibberish..."

    ....very very strange.

Because it's bullshit. He claims that he can plug in an encrypted drive of which nobody has the key to and read the data. If you can't read the data then anything he has "found" is also bullshit. He's a fool who doesn't know shit about what he's talking about and puts other people down.

It happened because the op is a troll and it was not his first "I have a hack" post.

...although, it does seem viable (or least worthy of further investigation). My Wii U, is a 32GB and was full in the first 10 minutes I owned it, so I have stuffed it with 64GB PNY's. I was kind of surprised at how it lets me just load up memsticks like it does, and have wondered if anyone had made any progress on a drive tool for reading the system file format. Is it possible to inject code into game data? create corrupted game saves? But that would heavily depend on being able to first access the drive on a pc/mac/linux box and read/write contents.

I haven't seen any dumps of the Wii U flash, or of anything really. Very surprising seeing dumping the flash IS possible. Easy even.

Plus there are some big known vuln now with USB memsticks.

It's weird so many have sort of turned their noses up at hacking it, it's like they have some sort of pity for it or something. idk.

Trust me, if I was able to access the data, I would. This was literally the first thing I looked into when MN1 and I were first working on the Webkit exploit. It's actually really easy to dump all the data from a drive, as long as the comptuer recognizes it (which it should, I was able to format and read the contents on a 8GB USB using Windows), there are tools to dump the raw data from the drive. I'd have to be on my computer to give the specific program I use, though. I found out it was encrypted because when I first formatted it, it had files on it before and so not everything was all 0's ("wiped"), so even though we found "unencrypted strings", it was just data leftover before the format. The Wii U does a "lazy format", all it formats is what it needs to, it doesn't wipe the drive to all zeroes. I then looked at the drive after i wiped it and formatted it and it was definitely encrypted.

We basically can't do anything until we get the Starbuck keys with an IOSU exploit (such as the Wii U common key which does basically everything, it's used to encrypt drives and everything on NUS is encrypted with it, along with a bunch of other stuff), and nobody AFAIK is working on one.

The devs behind the current hacks/exploits haven't turned their noses up at it. They already have other attack vectors, they're not going to just drop everything they have now and start trying something completely different just because it's an option.

There is nothing keeping others with the knowledge base to pursue this though.

Aside from lack of technical know-how or lack of interest, yeah, not a lot I suppose.
