Hey Guys,

I have a new hard drive that I can't get working with the two Wiis i've tried it with. It's a SATA drive with a standard JMicron controller within its external case.

I've tried formatting it to FAT32, then WBFS - or NTFS, then WBFS, however USB Loader GX tells me that it "could not load the cios!", and reboots out to the Wii menu.

I have the same version of this external case for an IDE drive and it works fine - has the IDE JMicron controller.

Since the controller is such a standard one, it should work - is there something else I can try?

Thanks!

You need to install a cIOS to your Wii in order to use USB Loader GX (or any backup loader, for that matter). Read the "Modify any Wii" guide in the Wii - Hacking section to find out how.

Sorry I didn't make it clear, but I have cios Rev 16 installed on a 4.0 and 4.2 Wii. The two wii's ive tried use other USB drives just fine, but not this new USB drive. Any ideas?
